Back from the Dead

Wow, so it has been ages since I blogged on here. Where to even begin?? When I left off, I was still a DJ at KSSU, Sacramento State University's student run radio. As much as I loved it there and more importantly, everyone who I worked with, I had to bid farewell to focus on my major, Film Production. Since I've began my major, I've worked on 2 short films now, and . This has all lead up to the short film I am working on now, oh and DIRECTING. Holy shit, I was not prepared, nor expecting, to direct and it has been an experience doing this. Thankfully, I have the guidance of some wonderful professors and friends to help out, so it has been pleasantly smooth so far, I'm crossing my fingers that this'll continue when we begin shooting.
I have been turning to the greats of our time, including Malick, Truffaut, Anderson (both Wes and Paul Thomas), and Nolan. It's been a process trying to turn ideas into reality, especially through the eye of the camera, but thankfully Daniel Seo is our Director of Photography, and has a very creative mind. I'm very excited for this project and more importantly to GRADUATEEEEEEEE! SHEEEEET! It's about damn time!
And I'm about to be going T-Pain post graduation as I party with Boys Noize the day I graduate with my girlyfriend, Kim Le and my buds! On that note, MUSIC OF 2012! HOLY SHITTTTTT! I am psyched to hear artists emerging out of their caves with fresh material, especially the resurrection of Bloc Party, one of the greatest bands of our time in my opinion.
Their Album "Four" is exponentially better than their last album and is a raw album showcasing their talent, minus the effects/synthesizers/processing and leaving us with guitars screaming in unison with frontman Kele. Excellent work boys.
Speaking of "Boys", Mr. Boys Noize, aka, Alex Ridha, is back and has a hell of an album to share. "Out of the Black" is the work of Oi Oi Oi meets his early remixes with a touch of Rap production we see with today's artists. I am excited to hear the rest of the album and to see him at the FOX in Oakland this December.
Which leads me to my last piece of music, or "coming soon" music. MUTHAFUCKINDAFTPUNKKKKKKKK!!!!!! Confirmed by "Yelle", a fellow Parisian and friend of DP, this album is going to be amazing. I don't give a shit about hyping it up, I don't care what anyone else says, they have been working on this thing for like, 43 years now and have collaborated with everyone and their cousin's cousin, it's going to rule. That's it for now everyone, make sure to check back for more music and updates about whatever stupid stuff I have to talk about! End of Line.
